Temasek Applied Science School (ASc) strives to provide a student-centered environment to nurture graduates with the right attributes in order for them to be successful in their careers and be good citizens.  

The spirit of caring is very much a part of the School’s culture. In ASc, all academic staff are appointed Care Persons (CP) who are involved in providing pastoral guidance in character development to students in their care groups (CG).The relationships between the CP and CG are established from the day the students begin their course of study until graduation.  

The CP is like a friend, mentor and facilitator and is concerned with the academic progress and behaviour of students in his care. He also has an important role in counselling and assisting students with emotional or academic problems. Students who face financial difficulties may approach the CPs for reference to the campus professional counsellor for various financial assistance schemes available in the Polytechnic. CPs will also help students  under their charge to develop desirable traits by encouraging them to participate in enrichment activities.

The strong passion of our staff with the right disposition has helped to develop our strong CP-CG bonding spirit into a unique shared value in ASc, and nurture the growth of our students with positive experiences in a caring environment.
