The Crystal Growing Challenge 2004 is a biennial event organised by Department of Chemistry, NUS and Singapore National Institute of Chemistry. A team of eight students from the Diploma in Biomedical Science and the Diploma of Chemical Engineering participated in this competition on 4 September 2004.  We emerged 2^nd Runners-Up in the Open Category with our winning combination “Candour on Rochelle Salt” - a nickel sulfate crystal measuring 5.4 cm X 1.6 cm X 1.5 cm with a weight of 24.81 g.
