The Temasek Applied Science School (ASc) has tapped into the diverse expertise of its staff to develop multi-disciplinary research capabilities in TCM. The TCM Research Facility serves as a training ground for students conducting project work under the different research schemes offered by the School, such as Major Project and the Differential Research Programme. It is also extensively used for staff projects as well as collaborative research with other research groups and the industry.
Located at the newly built Temasek Applied Science Research Centre, the TCM Research Facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art research instruments like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with UV and light scattering detector, Ion-Trapped Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS) with a nitrogen generator, Flash Chromatography, Capillary Electrophoresis and Flow Cytometer. The facility is well supported by the adjoining Cold Room, wet Chemistry Laboratory, Biosafety Safety Level 2 Laboratories, Class 10K Room equipped with laminar flow hoods and the Temasek Animal Facility (TAF).
The research group has also acquired a LC-MS (MALDI) for comparative proteomic analysis and identification of cellular targets of TCM.
